THE RELIGIOUS MISSIONARY INSTITUTE OF THE APOSTLES OF JESUS MEMBERS WORKING IN USA:
The Religious Missionary Institute of the Apostles of Jesus which supplies priests to our parish of St. Mary's and Benedict, St. Elizabeth and St. Osburg and to which our parish priest belongs is the first Religious Missionary Institute to be founded in Africa. It was founded in Uganda in 1968 by two Comboni Missionaries (Verona Fathers) Very Rev. Fr. John Marengoni MCCJ and Rt. Rev. Bishop Sisto Mazzoldi MCCJ, for the work of recruiting and educating young people who have the necessary qualifications to become missionary priests or Religious Brothers and are willing to serve as missionaries in Africa and indeed any part of the world. The work of evangelization to which every baptised is called is undertaken by the Institute of the Apostles of Jesus who work in five continents of the world (Africa, North America, South America, Europe and Australia).

Become a Missionary too: The training of a missionary priest takes several years in our case 1. Six years of secondary education ending with A 'Level certificate 2. Three years of Philosophy (postulancy) 3. Two years of Religious formation (Novitiate) 4. Five years of Theological formation (Scholasticate) This makes it Sixteen solid years of priestly and religious training. You can become a missionary without leaving your home by financially supporting someone within our Institute to become a priest Pope John Paul upon visiting us in Nairobi in 1981 said: "Aim at being missionaries in your own turn not only in this country where the gospel is still awaited, but outside particularly in other African countries. A Church that gives even from limited resources will be blessed by God, for, someone can always find somebody poorer than oneself."
